Judo
We practice judo not merely to complement Jiu-jitsu but to teach the personal development aspect of martial arts.
Who are we
Judo for jiu-jitsu
Judo was created from Jiu-jitsu. Gracie Jiu-jitsu was created from Judo. Both should be harmonious and practiced together not neglecting one aspect of the art over another. Both should be taught for self defense as well as for competition to create a better grappling style.
Principles of Judo
- Minimum effort, Maximum efficiency. Rather than relying on brute force, Judo allows the student to be conservative with energy, thereby subduing opponents without exerting undue amounts of strength.
- Taking out of balance. Judo’s techniques rely on tactical evasion and off-balancing of the opponents, resulting in a fall.
- Mutual benefit. Judo teaches reliance and support of others to provide mutual welfare and foster comradeship and community spirit.
